Killer65 PCB

  1. Test The PCB:

    • Unpack your PCB and connect it to your computer using a USB cable.
    • Open the test tool in VIA (Visual Intelligent Assistant) or the respective software.
    • Using tweezers, touch both metal tips to the small holes for each switch's contact pins.
    • If the key lights up on the tester, your PCB is working properly. Contact support if there are any issues.
  2. Assemble Stabilizers:

    • Stabilizers come disassembled and need to be put together before installation.
    • Each stabilizer has two housings, two stems, and one wire.
    • Clip the stem fangs using nail clippers or scissors.
    • Apply a thin coat of dielectric grease to the inner housing using a paintbrush.
    • Insert the stem into the housing through the bottom, ensuring the side with two holes faces the front.
    • Coat the ends of the wire with grease and insert it into the bottom hole, passing it through the stem.
    • Press the wire into its guide until it snaps securely into the housing. Avoid bending the wire.
  3. Install Stabilizers (Screw-In):

    • Locate the two circles near the edges of the stabilizers.
    • The smaller hole is for the threaded portion of the stabilizer, and the larger hole is for the clip.
    • Clip the stabilizers into their respective positions.
    • Screw them down into the PCB until it requires force to continue screwing, ensuring an even screw down.
  4. Install Daughterboard:

    • Screw the daughterboard into the case and connect the cable to the PCB.
    • Ensure the cable is facing the correct way, preventing any short circuits.
  5. Place Foam and Plate:

    • Adjust the foam as necessary for proper fit and sound dampening.
    • Install the plate on top of the foam.
  6. Install Switches:

    • Check that the switch pins are not bent or damaged.
    • Insert the switches into their corresponding positions on the PCB, ensuring a secure fit.
  7. Screw the Keyboard Top:

    • Align the keyboard top with the bottom assembly.
    • Use the provided screws to secure the top and bottom together evenly.
  8. Install Keycaps:

    • Take your desired keycaps and place them over the switches.
    • Press down on each keycap until it clicks into place.

Congratulations! Your custom mechanical keyboard is now complete. Take some time to adjust to the feel and layout of your new keyboard, and enjoy the personalized typing experience it offers.
